A Passion for Helping others, with the Knowledge and Experience to be Effective.

Allison Coulson, LMHCA

I created my practice and the services I offer based on three beliefs I hold surrounding the current state of our healthcare system:

  1. On-going Individual & family counseling is something everyone can benefit from.

  2. There is a distinct need for intensive mental and behavioral health support for non-life-threatening yet emergent situations —specifically in the context of adolescence.

  3. In these cases, families need an earlier intervention than what many treatment facilities can provide that is more intensive than traditional weekly counseling.

From being a Pediatric Mental Health Specialist for Seattle Children’s Hospital’s PBMU to a Program Therapist for Eating Recovery Center’s Residential and Partial Hospitalization Program, I pride myself on my knowledge and experience in crisis intervention, situational analysis, and evidence-based counseling. My career has been dedicated to supporting individuals and families across all levels of care with different backgrounds in rebuilding trust, healing relationships with themselves and others, and building a strong foundation to withstand future hardships.

Although my primary clinical focus is on providing teen-centered counseling intensives, I am a huge proponent of ongoing individual and family therapy. We will always discuss the appropriateness of a counseling intensive versus ongoing therapy sessions before moving forward with services.

What Others Have to Say:

  • “When working with clients, Allison is firm but compassionate with her expectations and boundaries. While she shows significant warmth, she is not afraid to challenge her clients without sacrificing the rapport she spends considerable time building.”

    Whitney Erickson, LICSW

  • "Finding someone who my daughter actually wanted to work with that would also work with us as her parents, has been a game changer. Our house is so much happier!"
